Freshers’ week: a fantastic, fun-filled week of light-hearted social events to help new students settle in to university life? Or a debauched excuse for drunken revelry and outrageous behaviour that polarises the new student body and alienates the local population with noise, disturbance and damage? The debate rages, but one thing is for sure; freshers’ week shows no sign of slowing down. Is it becoming a fantastic British tradition of inclusion and community welcome or one of the worst possible adverts for our anti-social, alcohol fuelled youth?
